Church News

It is now over 5 years since we had our Church refurbished (maybe that should be re built !). We have had our five year Assessment for Historic Scotland & Heritage Lottery carried out and all is well. For this we thank the Lord and it is amazing 'the power of Prayer'. We were so blessed between friends of our Church and families we have saved a substantial amount of money.

MISSION

Our Easter Morning Church Breakfast raised a substantial sum which was sent to 'Mercy Ships'.

Our Youth group are fundraising for 'Pabani Village Project'. This is organised by a local Christian man, Robert Park, one of our Deacons, who is the Oban Christian Aid Treasurer.

Youth Groups

We now have a Youth Group (10years and over) - all welcome

There are currently 15 members aged 10 to 16 years

This is held in Church Hall 7 - 9pm on Wednesdays during term time. There has been a good uptake for the Club with lots of interesting evenings have been held.

The Groups activities include a tuck shop, table tennis, ' WI ' keep fit and have included self defence instruction. Currently a First Aid Course and a Beetle Drive are being organised.

On Wednesday May 4th, the Evening will take place at a member's home where the youngsters will have a BBQ, use of the Hot Tub etc. We do hope for good weather but no matter what we are given the youngsters will have a pleasant and safe time.

On Easter Sunday the members presented a Play which gave us food for thought !

One of our members Fumiko Miller is Japanese therefore the Tsunami was especially pertinent to us. Fumiko works in our local Co-op and they kindly allowed her to have a stall for the sale of home baking .This stall was manned by some of our church members and the amazing sum of over £1000 was raised!
